Low Histamine Mozzarella Apple Panini

Low Histamine | Recipe


  • fresh mozzarella cheese (either shredded or in water)
  •  bread of choice
  • pink lady apple
  • arugula
  • tablespoon honey
  • tablespoon olive oil
  • salt to taste


  • Cut apple using mandolin or just thinly slice.
  • LAYER mozzarella cheese on a slice of bread, sprinkle with salt, and top with other bread slice. (Don’t forget to pat the cheese dry, if it’s been sitting in water!)
  • HEAT olive oil in pan on medium-high heat for a couple minutes. Fry one side of sandwich for about 2-3 minutes or until bread gets golden and crispy.
  • FLIP sandwich and fry other side until bread golden and cheese melted through. Plate sandwich and separate bread to put on remaining ingredients.
  • HEAT honey for 5-10 seconds in microwave, then drizzle onto opened sandwich. Sprinkle salt to taste.
  • LAYER on apple slices and arugula, and top with the bread slice.
